American Idol.... Do We Even Care?

Okay, I am fully aware that this season of American Idol is being pumped up and overhyped. Joining the only original judge, Randy Jackson, will be industry success Steven Tyler and industry water log Jennifer Lopez. Without the zany antics of Simon and Paula this might be a snore..... wait Jennifer Lopez is on a singing competition show? I bet if she was trying out for the show she wouldn't make it past the audition! Maybe she'll get around to taking Paula's job on her new dancing show. But there will be no special guests at all this season, I guess they have to make it not seem like the past 9 seasons lol. Of course Georgia (not Atlanta) native and industry douche Ryan Seacrest will be hosting so no changes in that.

Is American Idol heading for a shark jump? Or are they just beating a dead horse with a sledgehammer? But it all pretty much goes full circle on the show you have your top 25 they do this boys vs. girls thing and there is always a theme and it takes Ryan 30 minutes to announce it ugh. It's getting kind of old really. Also, Idol has been churning out some hit and misses as far as the show is concerned.

Jennifer Hudson, Kelly Clarkston, Carrie Underwood, Fantasia Barrino and Adam Lambert seem to be the only winners of the show. You barely hear about anyone else. The males have been the ones truly losing from Idol with Rueben being the first... so is there an Idol curse? If you are a runner up do you get more shine than the season winners?

I mean look at Adam Lambert the queen who hid his sexuality on the show (or tried to...) and how he had a music video, album and his own performance on an awards show... so where was Kris Allen?
When Rueben Studdard came through with the win, Clay Aiken was the center of attention. Even Taylor Hicks had a stint singing in a CM for Ford, but it was Daughtry who scored big with his band and a smash CD.

So what do you think? Should the show hit the bricks or continue on until Seacrest loses his teeth?
