We really shouldn’t have a clue, but the fact that millions of people now know all about what could be her most embarrassing moment speaks to the power of the web. And how quickly and easily children can be exploited on it.
Amber is a 14-year-old student who was videotaped engaging in an intimate act with a male classmate after school. Another classmate videotaped the encounter and posted it online. It immediately went viral and caused a firestorm on the web. Some were outraged the video even existed, others were disgusted by young Amber’s behavior, still others were horrified by what the young boys had apparently perpetrated.
While the web’s self-appointed pundits were judging the various players in this sad affair, Amber Cole’s name was becoming more infamous with every passing minute and every comment posted online.
