Fashion Tips during rainy days

Full-length is a big no: Fashion during the rains should be simple, funky and fun, but never full-length. If you deck yourself out in clothes that sweep the floor, you're asking for trouble, you'll end up sweeping the muck off the footpaths and into your pants and legs.

Knee-length skirts, capris are in: In the rains, it's best to select skirts that streamline your body (the same goes for dresses). Go for a knee-length straight fit, or an A-line fit. For a formal look, pair it with a shirt. Even when it comes to jeans in the rainy season, they are best avoided. They tend to get heavy with water if you're caught in the rain.

At work, opt for a shirt or fitted kurtis over your capris. The light weight denim skirt is an option for college wear (that doesn't mean ultra-short or ultra-tight -- just above or below the knee is fine). Team it with a striped tee shirt and belt, slung low at the waist. For a night out, a denim skirt will go well with a lightly embellished top.

Stay away from white: Avoid wearing white in the monsoons, as any splashes or streaks of dirt will show prominently. Lower body garments should preferably be dark-coloured (to prevent them going transparent)  choose from shades like olive green, brown, and indigo, teaming them with tops in bold and bright shades. Blue, green, orange, pink, turquoise, coral and lemon yellow cheer up a dull day.

Cheap Chicas

So this morning I was watching to Nate Berkus Show!....YEA! I was, I actually love his shows. If you dont  know who Nate Berkus is, first off, he's a really really good looking man (haha), and second he's a huge interior designer who first started off at the Oprah Show, surprise surprise!

Well, on his show today he had a fabolous stylist, Lilliana Vazquez who helped a viewer put together almost 30 looks by using 8 new items! AMAZING! how so few basic pieces in your wardrobe can create so many looks. Some items were, basic buttoned down shirt, a coloured flat, stripes, and a scarf that can always be worn 100 different ways!

Take a look:

Chino or Flared?

This summer's new pant trend or possibly one of the few trends.

Flared: I'm sure we all remember the classic bell-bottoms. But for 2011 they have added a modern twist to them, nothing too extravagant or crazy, maybe a bit tighter/fitted, high-waisted, not super flared out, unless you like that, and they come in a variety of colours!

(some of these picture represent the wide legged trouser, which is somewhat similar to the flared.)

Chino:What are Chino's? To me it looks like a mesh between the skinny, harem with a bit of track pant feel combined; usually the chino is loose fitting on top and gradually tapers into the leg as it approaches the ankles.
However, the Chino was originally used in British and French military uniforms in the mid-1800s. Weird, how clothing, such as the Chino was used as a part of a uniform and today it's a staple piece for summer.

(Couldn't find good pictures of the Chino, as I hoped.)

Which one do you prefer/like?

Mens Wear: Z Zegna

I recently saw this collection while watching TV- surprise!
Its the Ermenegildo Zegna - Z Zegn, Menswear Collection. It's their Spring/Summer 2011.
Debuted in Milan, in June.
Z Zegna is a large family owned line. Their collection consist of great menswear fabrics and textures that are put together so effortlessly.

The collection is fabulous. I have a thing for men's clothing. I'm not sure why, maybe its because I admire a well dressed man that can actually put an outfit together without looking like the guy standing right beside him.
A man that stands with confidence in what he wears!

Personally i fell like a part of this collection should solely just focus on their shoes. A part of me that loves this collection so much is because of the shoes!

A common colour used in this collection are "earth tones" such as the reds and orange, with the mix of blacks, gray and crisp whites.
Anyways, have a look for yourself!

Here are some pictures of this fabulous collection:
