Rachel Roy

So I read an article about Rachel Roy's Trench coat, and obviously I decided to look further into her trench coats. I simply typed in "Rachel Roy 2011 trench coat"
and this is what I found...

....AMAZING! Is what I thought, I'm so glad I came across this and moreover, the brilliant Rachel Roy came up with this idea, to include fashion + dance together. To things I love. The video is smart and very bold, it express not only her fashion but the art of movement and creativity! ahhhhh! YAY!

Well, moving onto what I was actually looking for... The Trench.

Not sure if these pictures do any justice to what I wanted to explain, but Ms. Rachel Roy does make some amazing, timeless pieces! She took a simple trench coat, and made it into a jacket, a dress, a vest, an active wear, a causal top, incorporated into the pant, a skirt, and an evening gown. Such a bold look.

Colour-B l o c k i n g

A Colour-ful trend for summer. Mixing and matching colours. Not one, or two, but three or four. That compliment each other. Dont go overboard with it. If your afraid to try this, try one or two colours first and gradually add another colour that complements it, it could be earring, a purse, a belt.

Its the little things that make a big difference.

Chino or Flared?

This summer's new pant trend or possibly one of the few trends.


Flared: I'm sure we all remember the classic bell-bottoms. But for 2011 they have added a modern twist to them, nothing too extravagant or crazy, maybe a bit tighter/fitted, high-waisted, not super flared out, unless you like that, and they come in a variety of colours!

(some of these picture represent the wide legged trouser, which is somewhat similar to the flared.)

Chino:What are Chino's? To me it looks like a mesh between the skinny, harem with a bit of track pant feel combined; usually the chino is loose fitting on top and gradually tapers into the leg as it approaches the ankles.
However, the Chino was originally used in British and French military uniforms in the mid-1800s. Weird, how clothing, such as the Chino was used as a part of a uniform and today it's a staple piece for summer.
