Nor Black Nor White

Nor Black Nor White? Say what?

The creative minds behind this collection that mixes both, the Eastern world with the Western World. The collection that is called Nor Black, Nor White. The designers behind this collection are, Amrit Kumar and Mriga Kapadiya.
The designers incorporate Indian designs and craftsmanship into a more modern design. This collection infused a relaxed looked and included a famous tradition in India-tie-dye. The fabric used is also a well-known fabric called, Bandini print.

(Spring/Summer 2011 Collection)

The designers travel back to their roots, and get inspired by items worn by past generations, or things they see on the streets of India. The fabrics are bought from India, where the designers were inspired from for this collection.
They keep in the Indian feel, while keeping the structure of the clothing tailored to the more modern lady, so that the items are not restricted to particular culture/group of individuals.

The designers!

Personally I love it!ANYTHING that incorporates the East with West I love!
Great Idea, Great Minds, Great Collection! 3 for 3.

Colour-B l o c k i n g

A Colour-ful trend for summer. Mixing and matching colours. Not one, or two, but three or four. That compliment each other. Dont go overboard with it. If your afraid to try this, try one or two colours first and gradually add another colour that complements it, it could be earring, a purse, a belt.
Its the little things that make a big difference.

Gucci and Jil Sander did it the best this season!

Indian Inspired...Isn't It Incredible?

Last year Mr. Marc Jacobs launched a special collection in celebration of Diwali. He used fabrics from Indian sarees. The fabric he used in this special collection brought the colour, freshness and truly expressed the richness of the Indian culture. His use of an authentic sari material brought this small collection worth more than just a couple hundred dollars!

Although it looked lovely in the picture. I'm not sure how many people actually purchased a dress from this collection.

Personally I love this idea, well why wouldn't I. Haha. The Bollywood in me just loves when designers mix the East with the West or visa versa.
